We are looking for two people who want to be volunteer teachers for these jobs:

- Teaching beginners English (Level A1) to adults at Paris Beauty Academy, 3160 Saturn Road, Garland TX 75041.

- Helping adults get ready for US citizenship at Jubilee Community Center, 917 Bank Street, Dallas TX 75223.

Both teaching jobs are for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, starting on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Volunteering as a Site Coordinator:

Site Coordinator Responsibilities:

Recruit students for the classes offered at the location.
Maintain regular communication with students to ensure their active participation in our classes.
Ensure classrooms are prepared and available for teachers and students.
Warmly welcome students at the front door, granting them access to the facility.
Provide updates to the SRA Leadership team regarding daily operations at the location.
Create new ways to attract new students to the programs.
Help plan social events, field trips, celebrations, and graduation ceremonies.
Foster positive relationships with students, SRA Ministries Leadership, and community stakeholders.

Volunteering for Office Support:

Respond to inquiries and service requests.
Maintain up-to-date student rosters.
Reach out to students with frequent absences, encouraging their return to classes.
Assist the leadership team during assigned meetings.
Communicate with local stakeholders, seeking monetary and non-monetary donations to enhance our programs and events.
Participate in local network meetings when possible.

The volunteer for office support is estimated to volunteer for an average of 3 hours per week.

Please ensure you have your computer or laptop and are available for occasional travel.

Volunteering as a Tutor:

Interact with students via text messages and/or phone calls twice a week, keeping the sessions short, to assist them in honing their English writing and speaking skills.
Assist during regular online tutoring sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Participate in in-person tutoring sessions at one of our three class sites on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
